Just a hop, but if you go there, don’t miss the Pákozd-Sukoró Arboretum! The 96-hectare forest, with 250 types of trees and shrubs, and a sea of protected plants: the maidenhair fern, the yellow and purple lady’s petal, the valiant kosbor, offers a wonderful sight in every season. The Mészeg-hegyi country house offers an insight into the cultural history and economic geography of the area, but a visit to the Fishing Museum, which commemorates the fishing traditions of Lake Venence, can also be a good program. If you are interested in history and are not in a hurry, you should definitely visit the Bronze Age earthen castle or the museum commemorating the Battle of Pákozd. For nature lovers, we recommend the Lake Venencei Bird Reserve Nature Conservation Area and the moving stones, which offer an incredible view.
